While most pears have a pear-shape, there are also pears that resemble apples, so it not always easy to distinguish the fruits. A major difference between apples and pears is that the latter have beneath the peal or in the tissue of the fruit clusters of lignified cells (cells with hardened walls) which is knows as the "grit". This is the small rough granules or particles that you taste when eating a pear.

Sub family: Maloideae
Family: Rosaceae
Order: Rosales

Other pears: Several Pyrus species are pears. The most common species are: Pyrus communis, Pyrus × bretschneideri, and Pyrus pyrifolia. These species together have many different cultivars.

Origin:
Distribution:

Evergreen or deciduous: Deciduous (but some evergreen pears exist in Asia)
Flowers: White flowers, sometimes yellowish or pinkish. Flowers have 5 petals and are 2 to 4 centimeters in diameter.
Leaves:
Fruits: Fruits can be round like an apple, but usually fruits are pyriform (=pear-shaped), having an elongated part near the base and a more swollen end. Wild pears have small fruits, often less than 4 cm in diameter, but cultivated species can be up to 18 centimeter long with a diameter up to 8 centimeters.

List of all Fruits: Peach and Nectarine

List of all Fruits: Peach and Nectarine

Peaches are known for their soft velvety skin and their sweet aromatic and juicy flesh. The stigmatic surfaces are pale green in color. The stamens are bright yellow.
Leaves: The spirally arranged leaves are on the top of the trunk. The lower part of the trunk shows the scars from earlier leaves and fruits. The large leaves are about 50-70 cm in diameter, they are deeply lobed with 7 lobes.
Fruits: Smooth skinned fruits. Papaya fruits vary a lot in size and shape, depending on the variety and type of plant (round, oval, pear-shaped, etc.). Fruits can be small ( afew hundred grams) to big (several kilos). Usually the fruits contain many seeds surrounded by the smooth yellow to orange-red flesh which usually has a sweet taste.
Climate and weather: Papaya needs a warm tropical climate.
Pollination: Based on flower type there are three types of papaya plants: female, hermaphrodite, and male. Hermaphrodite flowers are usually self-pollinating. Female flowers are probably pollinated by wind or by insects (thrips, moths). Hand pollination can be used for better fruit setting.

List of All Fruits: Orange

List of All Fruits: Orange

Oranges belong to the Citrus family. When crushed they give an aromatic smell. The petioles of the leaves usually have small wings.
Fruits: The pulp of oranges has different colors, yellow, orange or red, depending on the variety. The pulp consists of many membranous juice sacs which are enclosed in a number of wedge-shaped compartments.
Climate and weather: Orange are subtropical pants and can be grown in grown in warm tropical and subtropical areas. Inside is a succulent white pulp consisting of 4 to 8 segments and one to five seeds. The pulp has a sensational flavor which is probably the reason that it is called "queen of fruits".
Leaves: Short thick leathery evergreen leaves.
Trunk: The bark of the mangosteen tree has a dark brown (nearly black) color.
Climate and weather: Mangosteen requires a tropical climate. It cannot tolerate temperature below 5°C.
Pollination: Seeds of mangosteen grow without sexual fertilization.
Height: 7-25 meter.
Crown: The mangosteen tree has a crown with a pyramidal shape.
Type of soil: Prefers deep, rich organic soil, especially sandy loam or laterite.
Growth rate: Slow growing. The fruit is covered by a red, roughly-textured skin. This peel is inedible but can be easily removed. The inside of the fruit consists of sweet, translucent white flesh surrounding a single glossy brown nut-like seed. This sweet flesh is eaten. The seed (about 2 cm long and 1–1.5 cm in diameter) is poisonous and should not be eaten.
Leaves: Lychee has alternate pinnate leathery leaves. Each leaf 15–25 cm long, with 2-8 lateral leaflets that are 5–10 cm long. Young leaves have a bright coppery red color at first. Later they turn shiny bright green.
Climate and weather: Lychee is adapted to warm to cool subtropical areas. It requires seasonal temperature variations for good flowering and fruiting. A certain amount of chilling is necessary for flower bud development, but warm, humid summers are favorable for flowering and fruit development.
Pollination: Bees and flies.
Height: Can reach 12-15 or even 20 meter but often smaller.
Type of soil: Requires a well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter.

List of all Fruits: Longan

List of all Fruits: Longan

Longan trees can produce thousands of ping-pong ball sized fruits that are eaten fresh or dried. They look a bit similar to 'langsat' and 'longkong'.

Family: Sapindaceae
Order: Sapindales

Origin: Southern China and Burma (but maybe also more south, south-west India and Sri Lanka)
Distribution:

Evergreen or deciduous: Evergreen
Flowers: Pale yellow flowers on upright terminal panicles.
Leaves: Alternate leaves with 4 to 10 opposite leaflets. The shape is elliptic or lanceolate and blunt-tipped. Leaves are 10-20 cm long and 3.5-5 cm wide. They are leathery with a glossy-green color on the upper surface and grayish-green on the lower surface. New leave growth has a wine-color.
Fruits: Round fruits with a thin, brown-colored inedible shell. The flesh of the fruit is translucent white, soft, and juicy. It surrounds a big, black seed. That's why it is called "Dragon's Eye."
Climate and weather: Longan is a subtropical tree but it grows well in the tropics. It needs a prominent change of seasons for satisfactory flowering. A cool season of 2-3 months results in abundant flowering.

List of all Fruits: Kiwifruit

List of all Fruits: Kiwifruit

The kiwifruit was first known as "Chinese Gooseberry". It got its new name from the kiwi bird, one of the national symbols of New Zealand.

The kiwi fruit is a fuzzy brown egg-shaped fruit with green flesh.
Family: Actinidiaceae
Order: Ericales

Origin: China
Distribution: Main production of kiwi fruits is in: Italy, New Zealand, Chile, France, Greece, Japan, Iran, United States, Canada and Cambodia.

Evergreen or deciduous:
Flowers: Individual kiwi plants are either male or female. Female plants bear fruits but only if the flowers were pollinated by a male plant.
Leaves:
Fruits: Kiwi fruit is an edible berry with slightly tart green or golden fresh. The flesh contains with rows of small, black, edible seeds. The fruit has a fuzzy light brown skin and an oval egg shape. Fruits are 5-8 cm long and 4.5 to 5.5 cm in diameter. Kiwifruit is a rich source of vitamin C.
Climate and weather: Kiwi fruits prefer a temperate climate with sufficient summer heat.
Pollination: Pollination by bees. But many bees are needed as kiwi flowers are not very attractive for bees. Producers can artificially pollinate by collecting pollen from male flowers and blowing it over the female flowers.
Height: Kiwi vines are commercially grown on sturdy support structures.

List of all Fruits: Jackfruit

List of all Fruits: Jackfruit

Jackfruit is one of the biggest and most impressive fruits grown in most tropical countries.
Family: Moraceae
Order: Rosales

Origin: India
Distribution: All tropical areas.

Evergreen or deciduous: Evergreen
Flowers: Male and female flowers are produced on separate inflorescences. The female inflorescences are usually borne on thick branches or on the trunk of the tree.
Leaves: Glossy, dark green leaves. Elliptical leaves, 5-25 cm long and 3-12 cm broad. On young trees the leaves are often lobed but entire on mature trees.
Fruits: jackfruit is the largest fruit growing on trees in the world. The very big fruits are at least 25 cm in diameter but can be up to 90 cm long and 50 cm in diameter. Peeling the skin of the fruit will reveal the succulent, yellow to orange colored pulp. The flavor is sweet, a bit like banana or pineapple, but with a strong, fruity aroma and taste.
Climate and weather: Jackfruit is adapted to humid tropical and near-tropical climates. Sensitive to frost
Pollination: Wind pollination. Hand pollination will produce better fruits.
Height: 10-17 meter
Type of soil: Prefers rich, deep soil of medium or open texture.
Moisture: Prefers flood free, well-drained soils. It prefers well-drained soils.
Light: Dragon fruit likes bright sunshine.

Custard apple

Custard apple

You would expect custard apple to taste rather like custard, but in my opinion it doesn't. Throughout the tropics this palm is grown as decoration or for its edible fruits. But apart from the fruits, almost any part of the plant can be used, for example to make furniture or mats, or to thatch roofs.

Basic information on coconut
Scientific name: Cocos nucifera
English: Coconut Coconut palm
Coco
Dutch: Kokosnoot
Kokospalm
Kokosboom
Spanish: Palmera de coco Cocotero
French: Palmier de coco Noix de coco Cocotier cultivé
German: Kokospalme Kokosnusspalme
Italian: Noce di cocco Palma da cocco
Other: Cocoanut

Family: Arecaceae

Order: Arecales

Origin: Unknown (could be south Asia or South America).

Distribution: Wet tropics. All tropical regions of the world, between latitudes 20 degrees North and South of the equator.

Evergreen or deciduous: Evergreen

Flowers: The branched inflorescence can be up to 2 meter long. It is borne in the leaf axil (the place where the leaf meets the stem). There are separate male and female flowers, but self pollination is prevented because the male flowers develop and wither before the female flowers. Insects are attracted to the sweet smelling nectaries on the flowers.

Leaves: The pinnate (feather-like) leaves are 4-6 meter long. The pinnae are 60-90 cm long. Leaves that are old break away cleanly and leave a smooth trunk.

Fruits The egg-shaped (ovoid) fruits are up to 35 cm long and 30 cm wide. They have a green color which turns to brown in mature fruits. The outer part of the fruit is a thick fibrous husk. Inside this is the almost spherical nut which has a hard woody shell that is rather hairy on the outside. The nut can measure from 12 to 20 cm in diameter and up to 25 cm long. On one end of the nut are three round soft spots which are called the eyes. Inside the nut is a layer of white flesh, which is called copra. This layer of meat is very thin in younger fruits, and becomes harder and thicker (up to 2 cm) in older fruits. The central space of the nut is filled with a sweet liquid, which is called coconut milk. Especially the younger fruits contain a lot of this coconut water.

Climate and weather: Requires full sun and a humid climate.

Pollination: Cross pollination by insects (e.g. bees) and wind.

Height: Large palm tree, growing to 30 m tall.
Type of soil: Likes to grow on sandy beaches. The coconut is tolerant to brackish soils. Can be grown on many soils as long as they are well drained.

Growth rate: Coconuts are slow growing

Spacing (close range) 5 meter

Spacing (wide range) 9 meter

Propagation: Coconuts are propagated from seed.

Insect pests: Coconut Rhinoceros beetles (Oryctes rhinoceros), are a key pest causing serious damage in coconut palms in some parts of the world. Coconut hispid beetle (Brontispa longissima) is a very damaging pest of coconut in Asia in areas where natural enemies are absent. Some minor coconut pests that usually do not require control include scale, palm aphid, spider mites, mealybugs, palm weevils and caterpillars.

Diseases: Lethal Yellowing disease is caused by mycoplasma-like organisms. It is a serious disease that causes palms to die within a few months.

Harvesting: Sometimes trained monkeys are used to harvest coconut fruits. the monkey climbs the tree and turns the fruit around until the petal breaks and the fruit falls on the ground.

Uses: Almost every part of the coconut palm has some use. The coconut water (coconut milk) that fills the space in the center of the coconut can be used as a drink. The white flesh (endosperm) can be eaten fresh, or is used in a variety of dishes. From the dried endosperm (copra) coconut oil can be extracted, which is used in soap and other cosmetic products. The fibers of the husk of the coconut can be used in the production of ropes, mats, brooms and brushes. Leaves are used to thatch roofs, and the wood is used as building material or to make furniture.

Cashew

Cashew
List of all Fruits
The cashew tree is native to Brazil’s Amazon rain forest, which spread all over the world by Portuguese explorers. Today, it is grown commercially in Brazil, Vietnam, and India and in many African countries.

Cashew tree bears numerous, edible, pear shaped false fruits or “accessory fruits” called "cashew apples." A small bean shaped, grey color “true fruit” is firmly adhering to lower end of these apples appearing like a clapper in the bell. This true fruit is actually a drupe, featuring hard outer shell enclosing a single edible seed or the “cashew nut.” The outer shell contains a phenolic resin, urushiol, which is a potent caustic skin irritant toxin. It is, therefore, the outer shell is roasted in the processing unit in order to destroy the resin, urushiol and then, the edible nut is extracted.

Cashew nut measures about a inch in length and 1/2 inches in diameter with kidney or bean shape, and smooth curvy pointed tip. Each nut has two equal halves as in legumes. The nuts are cream white color with firm yet delicate texture and smooth surface. Cashews have buttery texture with pleasant sweet fruity aroma.

Health benefits of Cashew nuts

Cashews are high in calories. 100 g of nuts provide 553 calories. They are packed with soluble dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and numerous health-promoting phyto-chemicals that help protect from diseases and cancers.

They are rich in “heart-friendly” monounsaturated fatty acids like oleic and palmitoleic acids that help to lower or bad LDL cholesterol and increase good HDL cholesterol. Research studies suggest that Mediterranean diet, which is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids helps to prevent coronary artery disease and strokes by favoring healthy blood lipid profile.

Cashew nuts are very rich source of minerals. Minerals especially manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium are concentrated in the nuts. A handful of cashew nuts a day in the diet would provide enough of these minerals and prevent deficiency diseases. Selenium is an important micronutrient, which functions as co-factor for antioxidant enzymes such as Glutathione peroxidases, one of the most powerful antioxidant in the body. Copper is a cofactor for many vital enzymes, including cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide dismutase (other minerals function as co-factors for this enzyme are manganese and zinc). Zinc is a co-factor in many enzymes that regulate growth and development, sperm generation, digestion and nucleic acid synthesis.

Cashews are also rich in many essential vitamins such as pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), riboflavin, and thiamin (vitamin B-1). These vitamins are essential in the sense that our body requires them from external sources to replenish and essential for metabolism of protein, fat, and carbohydrates at cellular levels.

In addition, the nuts are also containing small amount of Zea-xanthin, an important flavonoid antioxidant, which selectively absorbed into the retinal macula lutea in the eyes. It is thought to provide antioxidant and protective UV ray filtering functions and helps prevent age related macular degeneration (ARMD) in the elderly.
List of all Fruits

Cacao

Cacao
List of all Fruits

"Real chocolate is a cocoa paste made from cacao seeds. Cacao seeds are the fruit of the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao.

The cacao tree produces flowers and fruit year-round. The cacao tree is small and comes from the forests of Central and South America. It needs a warm and humid climate, regular rainfall as well as a fertile and well-irrigated soil. It grows in the shade, preferably at an altitude of 1,300 to 2,300 feet, in the tropics 20 above and below the equator. The cacao tree yields its first crop at 3-4 years old. It is an adult plant at 10. It produces from 300 to 1,000 pounds of cocoa per acre for about 50 years.

The cacao tree fruit is a huge berry called cacao pod, usually egg or melon-shaped, 5 to 12 inches long and 3 to 5 inches wide. The cacao pod contains 30 to 40 seeds. It takes 20 to 25 pods to get 2 pounds of cocoa. Once the tree reaches maturity, fruit pods will sprout from its trunk and branches. The golden-red to purple fruit pods turn brown at maturity, at which time they are split open and the insides scooped out. Each pod generally produces 20 to 40 almond-shaped cacao beans.

After the cacao beans are removed from the fruit, they undergo fermentation, a process that reduces their bitterness and helps develop their heady aroma. After they are dried the beans are ready to be cleaned, graded, packed, and shipped for processing into chocolate products.

Once the beans are selected, they are roasted and shelled to obtain the center cacao kernel, or nib. To transform the cacao kernels into the thick, dark-brown paste called chocolate liquor, the nibs are ground between large heated rollers in high-speed mills.

Chocolate liquor is the base from which all chocolate products are made. Pure chocolate liquor, which contains 53 to 55 percent cocoa butter, is unsweetened and too bitter to eat. It is compressed into blocks or squares and is used for cooking and baking."

Barberry

Barberry
List of All Fruits
Barberry is one of the oldest medicinees. Not too long ago thousands of lives were being saved with the help of mixtures prepared from barberry root. Those mixtures would diminish fever, control common cold and lung infections.

Description of Barberry plant
Barberry, named scientifically as "Berberis Vulgaris", is a thorny shrub with yellow flowers, small red fruits and leaves which are narrow at the base and narrow and serrated on the edges; it grows along with other shrubs at the edge of fields or the outskirts of forests. It's a decorative herb through its nicely colored flowers and fruits which last throughout the year including winter time and through its leaves that change color during the autumn season. Barberry is often cultivated as a hedge in parks and gardens.

barberry It is also planted around houses where because of its thorny aspect that keeps away any unwanted guests. However, barberry is a propitious host for "Puccinia graminis" (stem rust of wheat), and for that reason it's forbidden for the barberry to be cultivated in certain areas like the agricultural ones.

The herb has been used throughout the time for its medicineal characteristics. In the traditional Chinese medicine, barberry was mentioned more than 3000 years ago.

Proprieties of Barberry
In the chemical composition of the herb there are a considerable number of active substances. The bark contains a large number of alkaloids (berberine, berbamine, oxyacantha) and tanines. Barberry fruits contain glucose, fructose, malic acid, pectine, vitamin C. The active substances from the herb bring about the following effects: haemostatic, diuretic, vasodilator, hypertensive, antibacterial (kills bacteria and parasites), and anti-inflammatory. Berberine, the potent agent has numerous usages in controlling different illnesses (stimulates digestion and reduces the gastrointestinal pains) and at the same time it toughens the immune system.

Treatments
Among the most recommended usages of barberry are those against diarrhea (and in its more serious forms - cholera), against fever, anemia and also against hangovers. It's also efficient against a considerable number of infections - malaria or the lung infections, while controlling the secretions of the mucous membrane. It has a strong sedative effect, decreases the blood pressure and is also a uterine stimulant. Barberry can be administrated to help correct the growth of the spleen.
List of All Fruits

Avocado

AVOCADO
List of All Fruits
Botanical name for avocado plant is Persea Americana. Avocado can grow in a variety of geographical locations but it is native to the Mesoamerican region. Avocado is an evergreen plant, and can grow in diverse environmental conditions. Avocado plant can grow any where from central highlands to the rain forests of northwest Columbia (Smith et al., 1992).

The avocado has various names. In the past it was called as alligator pear, midshipman's butter, vegetable butter, or sometimes as butter pear. Avocados may grow well in the mild-winter areas of California, Florida and Hawaii. Some sub varieties of could be seen in the northern parts of California and along the Gulf Coast.

An average avocado tree produces about 120 avocados annually. Commercial orchards produce an average of 7 tonnes per hectare each year, with some orchards achieving 20 tonnes per hectare (FAO statistics). Biennial bearing can be a problem, with heavy crops in one year being followed by poor yields the next. The fruit is sometimes called an avocado pear or alligator pear, from its shape and green skin. The avocado tree does not tolerate freezing temperatures, and so can be grown only in subtropical and tropical climates.

Avocados can be grown from seed, but the plants are usually propagated by grafting. They are set in the grove 20 to 40 feet apart depending upon whether the type of growth is spreading or upright. Sometimes they are set at 15 to 20 feet with the alternate plants removed after a few years. Older orchards with spreading trees may have as few as 40 trees per acre. Orchards with upright trees may have 150 trees per acre. About 90 trees per acre is average (Lee and Burns 1967). Fruit bearing begins at 3 to 6 years of age and may continue for 50 or more years.
List of All Fruits

BLUEBERRIES

BLUEBERRY
Blueberries have been consumed by the native North American Indians for hundreds of years. Surprisingly, the plant is associated with more folklore than most American fruits. Many years ago after the Europeans arrived in North America, they began to cultivate the fruit on farms and took the blueberry plant back to Europe with them.
Today the fruit is well recognized for its sweetness and is sold worldwide. Besides the fruit, the berries are also crushed and the juice is extracted. The North American Indians have used its juices for years to treat numerous medical ailments as well as a dying agent for their clothes. The dried berries were also crushed into a powder and rubbed into meat for flavor.

Vitamins, Minerals and Phytochemical Components

These delicious treats have earned the reputation of a super fruit and evidence indicates that the fruit is rich in nutrients like fiber, vitamin K, vitamin C, iron, and large amounts of manganese. They also contain resveratrol, which is a phytoalexin that is produced by plants when they are experiencing a bacterial or fungal infection. Phytoalexins are antibacterial and anti-fungal chemicals that are produced by plants as a means of protection against pathogens.

In 1997, it was discovered that resveratrol also has anti-inflammatory properties. Recently resveratrol has been labeled as a nutraceutical because its chemical properties provide protection against chronic diseases. In addition to resveratrol, they contain anthocyanins and polyphenol antioxidant pigments that have been shown to help reduce the risk of getting some diseases such as certain types of cancers.

List of All Fruits

The Healthiest Fruit List of Fruits

The list of fruits below is the healthiest fruit list around. Nectarine
Prunus persica Prunus persica var. nectarina
Family: Rosaceae Family: Rosaceae

Description & storage
Peach: Round juicy fruit with downy yellowish-red skin and a rough stone.
Nectarine: Type of peach with a thin smooth skin and firm flesh.

Peaches and nectarines always have to be picked ripe. They do not ripe well after they have been picked. You can keep peaches and nectarines for one to three days but you have to be very carefull, one small bruise and it will go bad on that spot.

Tree / shrub
The peach and nectarine trees or shrubs grow upto 5 x 5 m. It is self pollinative and has an impressive blossoming.
Darwin (1731-1802) noticed that peach trees spontaneously produced nectarines and that this also happens the other way around. He even describes a tree that produced a fruit that was half peach half nectarine and later fell back producing peaches.

Short history
Peaches are from Chinese origin. They go back to the 10th century B.C. and are often found on illustrations from that time. The Chinese have developed an incredible amount of peach of races.
The peach got it's name around 300 B.C. The greek philosopher Theophrastus thought it came from Persia and named this lovely fruit to that country. In the first century the fruit is mentioned by Romans who wrote that they imported the fruit from Persia. It is supposed that the peach reached Europe around the year 0. In England they don't show up before 1650 A.D.
Strange enough, the nectarine is never mentioned in descriptions from the time Before Christ. Nectarines are first mentioned in America in 1720 when they grew between the peach trees in Virginia. A.J. Downing registred 19 nectarine races in America in 1857.
Today many types of nectarines are cultivated.

Use
Peaches and nectarines taste best consumed "warm" from the tree. Often jam is made out of it because they can't be stored fresh.
Nectarines are mostly eaten with the skin as peaches are mostly peeled.

Types and family
There are races with the stone fixed to the pulp and races with a loose stone. The pulp varies in colour from white to yellow and certain types have red stains.
The colour of it's skin varies from green to dark-red.
Most remarkable characteristic of the peach is it's downy skin.
apples.

Fig

List of all fruits...

Fig
Ficus carica
Family: Moraceae

Description & storage
Fig: soft sweet fruit, full of small seeds and often eaten dried.
Fresh figs are delicious and often jam and chutney is made from them.
The skin of figs is very thin and ripe figs can't be kept or transported very well. If you want the bananas to ripen faster place the bowl in the sun. Like other tropical fruits and tomatoes and bell peppers, never store bananas in the refrigerator. Below 8 degrees Celsius the fruit will decay from the inside. These fruits will not ripen but will turn black in the refrigerator.

Plant
Banana-plants can grow up to 15 m. but most plants vary from 3 to 9 m.
It has very big leafs that can grow to 4 x 1 m.

Short history
Wild forms of the banana plant come originally from the Indo-Malaysian area and are now cultivated all over the tropical and sub-tropical continents.

Use
Bananas are delicious eaten with one's fingers after peeling off the skin. Depending on the type of banana unripe bananas are also cooked, fried or deep-fried a lot. Bananas are the basic food in many tropical countries.

Types
At this moment there are five different types of bananas common on the market:
# Red bananas: have a green/red peel and pink fruit flesh. They taste the same like yellow bananas. The redder a fruit, the more carotene it contains, so maybe they are healthier than their yellow colleagues;
# Fruit-bananas: are the normal, yellow bananas, 15-30 cm.
# Apple-bananas: are smaller, 8-10 cm., and ripen faster. They are also yellow;
# The baby-banana (pisang susa): is yellow as well and measures 6-8 cm. It is the sweetest of the banana family;
# Baking bananas: are 30 to 40 cm. large and are green, yellow or red-like. They cannot be eaten raw. They fulfill the role of the potato in the tropical countries.

Peculiar characteristics
# Is the most well known and eaten (tropical) fruit;
# In Eastern Africa you can buy banana beer. This beer is brewed from bananas;
# Tropical fruit is usually picked unripe and has to ripen in the land of arrival. To make this process go faster bananas are treated with ethylene-gas. Normal bananas also ripen through ethylene -gas but exposing it to additional gas accelerates the process;
# Is the (only) fruit that for some people can work fatting because they contain a lot of starch (more starch than sugar). Those people shouldn't eat too many bananas a day;
# Eat at least one banana a day, they are said to contain everything a human needs and they contain all the 8 amino-acids our body cannot produce itself. For more see the energy in fruit.
# Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium and vitamin C;
# Red bananas are often dried and converted to meal which is used in many ways;
# Red bananas contain more vitamin C as yellow bananas (the redder a fruit, the more nutritious elements it contains);
List of All Fruits.....

Sweet Orange

Lisr of all fruits...
Sweet Orange
Citrus sinenis
Family: Rutaceae
Clementine, Mandarin, Tangerine, Satsuma
Citrus reticulata,
Family: Rutaceae

Description & storage
Orange: Round thick skinned juicy edible fruit that is a reddish-yellow color when ripe.
